TWISTLOCKS
Twistlocks are placed between the containers and the hatch covers to secure the container stacks. They transfer tension, compression and shear forces acting on the containers through the stack and finally to the ship structure.
LASHINGRODS &TURNBUCKLES
Lashing rods & turnbuckles play an important role in a container securing system. By taking up forces higher in the stack they limit the lifting and racking forces in the container stack, preventing containers and stacks from collapsing.
Stacking cones
Stacking cones are placed between the containers in the cell guide systems of a container ship to secure the containers. They prevent the shifting of containers with a length less than the length of the cell-guide system design. In some cases loose bottom stacking cones are used.
DECK SOCKETS
Raised deck sockets, also called ISO sockets, are placed on the hatch cover to secure the containers to the ship structure. They play a vital part in transferring the forces of the total container stack to the ship structure.
ELONGATED DECK SOCKETS
Sockets with an elongated hole are used where relative movement between the four container corners are possible. The elongated hole enables the twistlocks to move in one direction while still being secured. Cargo Care Solutions has everything in house to make sure you have the right sockets in the right condition.
Lifting sockets
Lifting sockets are used to connect the container spreader with the hatch covers when the latter needs to be lifted. The potential consequences of damaged lifting sockets goes from operational issues to hatch covers dropping while being lifted. Cargo Care Solutions delivers peace of mind by ensuring the lifting sockets are well-maintained and suitable for their purpose.
Lashing eyes
Lashing eyes are one of the key components of a lashing system as they form the crucial connection between the turnbuckle and the ship.
Lashing eyes for lashing bridge
Lashing eyes positioned on the lashing bridges are as vital for the securing of the container stacks as lashing eyes positioned on the hatch cover. The position and specific shapes of these eyes make them however more challenging to keep your cargo system well-maintained.
Guide fittings
Cell guide systems are used in the hold of container ships to secure the containers. Welding cones and guide fittings help positioning the containers and avoid containers from shifting, i.e. 20ft containers in 40ft cell guides. Missing or damaged fittings therefore affect the integrity of the whole cell guide system.
FLATRACKS & GEARBOXES
Gearboxes are used to stow loose lashing materials like twistlocks and stacking cones when not in use. To safely store and lift these boxes on and off the vessel these are stowed on 20ft or 40ft flat racks. Although not strictly required, most flatracks on board of container ships are CSC approved.
